Who We Serve

Emergency Medical Services

At Community Medical Services (CMS), we believe that rapid intervention and compassionate care can be the difference between crisis and recovery. That’s why some of our most impactful partnerships are with the people on the front lines of our communities.

How We Serve Your Organization

Working Side-by-Side in Crisis Response

Our Community Impact teams regularly collaborate with fire departments, police departments, emergency rooms, and EMS units to offer immediate support and a clear path to care. We know that treatment can be the turning point that leads someone out of the crisis cycle, so we’re proud to offer low-barrier, rapid-access treatment options as an alternative to punitive systems.

Our Community Impact teams engage in deflection programs, community cleanups and outreach, public education events, naloxone trainings, and field inductions.

Overdose Response Teams

Always On Call, Always Ready

CMS is often embedded in Overdose Response Teams (ODRTs), riding alongside first responders. This allows us to provide on-site buprenorphine injections, naloxone (Narcan) kits, and free public trainings on overdose response. It also facilitates a warm handoff to CMS for continued care. These partnerships ensure that no door is the wrong door and that every interaction is a chance to connect someone to treatment, support, and hope.

Deflection Programs

Providing a More Compassionate Path

We partner with emergency departments and law enforcement agencies through federally-supported deflection grants. The goal of these programs is to redirect individuals away from the justice system and into evidence-based care. This reduces the strain on emergency rooms, detention centers, and first responder services. Most importantly, it helps people take their first step toward long-term healing.
